To follow up on my earlier post about using filing cabinets as ready-made storage options in a tiny space, check out this sweet cabinet I just picked up for free from Craigslist!

The plan for this one is to keep it up front as a pantry, and to add rungs to the fronts of the drawers so it can double as a ladder to reach the upper loft. I may turn it sideways and put the ladder up the side of the cabinet instead, I’ll have to see how I’m feeling about it. But for now, it looks great just sitting there waiting to get used, and until I’m ready to permanentely install it in the housebus I can use it for tool storage to help keep my workspace organized.

Now, it’s only a 3-drawer cabinet so it isn’t as tall as the 4-drawer one I’d envisioned, but I’m happy to see that at this height it manages to not block out the windows at the front of the bus, so I’d still be able to open those for some airflow if needed!
