Hey, all! Today’s the day, the Artist Alley Comic Fest takes place today here in Portland! If you’re not familiar with the show yet, it’s a first-time event being run by Huynh and Addam Pool, the enthusiastic folks at Portland’s comics cafe, The Spritely Bean. It’s a pure Artist’s Alley show, with 30 tables set up in the parking lot behind their cafe. The setup reminds me a lot of how Stumptown got its start, with 22 tables in an old church. I know firsthand the kind of thing that can grow from such humble beginnings, so I’m really interested to see this show take its first steps today, and wish them the best of luck!
I’m also excited to be on the other side of the table again for the first time in several years. Exhibiting at more shows has been on my list of things to start doing for a while now, but I didn’t want to overtax my resources (financial and social). I’m happy to be making new comics again, and looking forward to introducing new folks to the adventures of Ellie Connelly!
So, I hope to see you all there! It’s gonna be hot today, so come get some nice cool comics!
