I know I mentioned recently that I’ve really been rediscovering how much I enjoy doing sketchcards! They’re a great way to make and sell original pieces, I love playing with color (though I could certainly use more practice), and they fall squarely into my appreciation for small things. I’ve decided to encourage myself to make more. The first part of that is that I’ve taken the special ‘convention discount’ pricing for custom cards and made that the standard price for them in my Storenvy shop. Full-color custom sketchcards are now only $10, and 6×6” black and white scenes are now only $20! I’ve also had enough requests to do the 6×6 portraits in color, so I’ve added that as an option for just an extra $10.
I’m also going to start just making cards for fun when I have time to do it, based on the things I enjoy! The plan is to post them to my Patreon-only feed as I do them, and then selling them on my old Etsy page. I’ve got a few recent ones available right now, and will be adding more soon!
And don’t forget, custom art makes a great gift, and the holidays are coming up soon! I’d love to draw something for you or your loved ones, so get in touch and lets make it happen!
Hey, all! Don’t forget, I’ll be tabling at the Rose City Comicon this weekend at table O-13!
I’ll have all of my current comics and art projects available, and I’m also doing custom sketchcards and portraits, which you can preorder now to pick up at the show!
More info here, and I hope to see you at the show.
I had a lot of fun at the Artist Alley Comics Fest this weekend, and I got a chance to draw a couple of custom sketchcards. I used to get freaked out about drawing unfamiliar characters for people who were standing there watching me do it, but it’s quickly becoming one of my favorite things to do at shows. I get to play with new characters, and coloring with markers, pencils, and colored inks, which is still a new process for me. I don’t always remember to take photos of them, though!
Here’s a couple I did yesterday, a Pikachu and a Nyan Cat! Fun characters that I’ve never had occasion to draw before. Click the thumbnails to see larger pictures.

I don’t know why my brain’s been stuck on this for the last two days, but here you go. This is what happens when I’m otherwise working. A Song of Ice and Fire reimagined as being written by Lin-Manuel Miranda. Cue the music!
How can a bastard, son of a kidnapped princess,
born in the Tower of Joy with no witness,
secreted away as the product of a mistress,
become the heir apparent ’n inherit the whole business?
Disrespected and rejected by his adoptive mother
A childhood smothered by the shadow of his brother
Was given no quarter
Was treated like an ‘Other’
At fourteen, he left for the Wall to join the Black Brothers.
While to the South the Starks were being slaughtered and scattered,
His father was beheaded, his brother got his at a wedding,
But Jon had sworn his vows to hold no lands nor be a dad, for
The family he chose were the only ones that mattered.
His life at Castle Black as a steward was demanding
Fought with his fellow Crows, so he needed some reprimanding,
Commander Mormont’s praises earned him ridicule and slander.
But in just two years they voted him Lord Commander.
Well, the War broke out, and his homeland went insane, man.
The Northern Banners only rally round the Stark name, and
The last Stark’s gone and only Snow remains, but
Can a bastard bring honor to his name? What’s his name, again?
Stark, or a Targaryen.
Am I a Stark or a Targaryen?
Don’t know whose legacy I’m carryin’.
They call me Snow,
But I don’t know…
